North Shore Picture Diversity
Photo Contest
Welcoming Community Through Your Eyes
The Picture Diversity photo contest challenged North Shore residents to
photographically represent what they saw as an inclusive society. Picture
Diversity is a public education project designed to engage North Shore residents
in sharing and learning about inclusive communities and multiculturalism.
The project highlights the social and economic benefits created by new
immigrants and cultural diversity, and builds understanding of the challenges
new immigrants and refugees face as they work to connect with North Shore
communities and workplaces.
Small Acts Big Impacts
Small Acts Big Impacts illustrate how every community member can assist new immigrants to make connections, build attachments, develop a sense of belonging and feel welcome and included. The intent of the videos is to engage and inspire community members to participate in some way in developing communities that are welcoming and inclusive.
