The following profiles were produced by BC Stats for the Immigrant Integration Branch of the Ministry of Attorney General. The Diversity Profiles provide information regarding Aboriginal Identity, Visible Minorities, Ethnic Ancestry, and Languages. The Immigration Profiles provide information on immigrant populations by community including numbers, ethnic origins, languages spoken, age distribution, labour force integration, occupations, education and income. With funding from the Welcoming and Inclusive Communities and Workplaces Program, the North Shore Neighbourhood House with support from the NSWAC, conducted research to develop the North Shore Directory of Resources, Services and Programs. The Directory is a listing of all North Shore resources, services and programs specifically designed for newcomers. Integration-Net www.integration-net.ca Funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, Integration-Net is a communications, information and research tool to support the work of the Canadian settlement community. It is a useful site for both service providers as well as newcomers. The site provides information on topics related to settlement, information on events and professional development opportunities and initiatives and promising practices from across the country.
Immigrant Employment Council of BC www.iecbc.ca The goal of IEC – BC is to connect more immigrants to employment that reflects their knowledge and experience. The site provides a good listing of links to assist new immigrants with career development and job search.
